Yep, it has a much nicer note and is driveable, if not a little on the loud side. Just right.

Mmmmmmmm.........carbon............See you managed to get the ultra-sticky pillar covers on without incident.....
Just! that glue is just ridiculous! no forgiveness in there at all - thankfully all went ok (phew). Actually the carbon duct was worse because i had to dremmel a damn big hole in the bumper before i could really check the alignment (did loads of photoshop first though to get a warm feeling for it). Managed to keep a steady hand though and the pay off was worth it i think
PS MR2 goes in for full service tomorrow and will be up for sale thereafter if anyone is interested in a quick car. Will be in the the for sale section later.

I've been designing an audio install for the fairlady for nearly two months now. The car is well suited to produce audio sound quality. The trouble is i hate the 'in your face, neon and perspex' culture associated with car audio and good guidence has been hard to find. Everyone seems interested in the biggest subwoofer and the biggest amp. With the help of the guys on talk audio and a boat load of calculations and theory learned, i'm finally ready to start cutting mdf tomorrow. What i discovered is the world of SQ - Sound Quality. You are probably already well versed in this field but it was new to me. It is relatively easy to get a thumping baseline - however, it is incredibly difficult to get a 'quality' natural, staging full range sound - and the difference is incredible. This is primarily why this thread has been a little quiet, i've spent every waking moment learning, measuring, calculating and modelling (OCD according to mrs ikarus) - i cant dissagree.
Anyway, rant over. The fairlady is going get an SQ makeover. As it's a significant part of the fairlady's development, i've added a few of the 3D CAD images below. If anyone is intereseted i'll be glad to go into more detail, but for fear of riddicule i wont ..
PS. i tried to go OEM styling as much as posible. the only noticable difference from a stock 350z is +70mm height on the boot floor level - and the abscence of a space saver.
