Thanks Greg, Tommo's did the job though. Just trying to arrange with Jim if i can use his dad's unit one weekend now to get the new stuff fitted.

A lot of the guys have.......... i know Greg has installed coilovers many times,as have Tommo and Jim...........so we should all be able to pitch in.....

Little update..

I've been pushing on with the audio and as of today the front end is complete. The biggest pain in the a$$ was trimming the 'A' pillars, but it was worth it - i tried to match the original trim as much as possible on the pillars (thanks to the guys at trim tech) and i'm pretty pleased with the oem finish..

Door pods were finished in carbon wrap matching the door handle cups (and a few other suptle pieces i have planned)..


All finished, months of work and you can barely tell (exactly what i was aiming for)..


Just got the rear end to finish sound deadening, fit the amps and sub enclosure, then onto suspension, back to the trimmers, then engine etc etc..

Quick update..

Had today off to get the last of the audio in and running, it sounds better than i expected so i'm very pleased with it . I'll get some photos up when i get 5 mins spare. Needs some trim work next to tidy up the back hatch so not much to see really until then. On to suspension next, then trimmer, then back to the bodyshop for finishing touches, then some engine dress.. hopefully just in time for the first of the shows .

Got the tanabe coilovers fitted yesterday. Only problem is the springs have settled now it's been driven a little and i need to adjust the heights again - and i've ran out of weekend . The ride is great, its's taken the 'wallowing' out of the car, and it now feels sharp and tight - very happy with the performance. I decided not to lower the car much, around 5mm at the front and 15mm at the rear to keep front and rear even. Will get some pics up after the next wash.

On the audio side, i found the 12 was stuggling at little at mid to top volume, and occationally triping the impedance led. Looking into it i found it was running at 1.6ohms which is way too low and would draw too much power from the amp. The amp is rated to 2ohms, but should perform better at nearer 4ohms. Sooo, i rewired the cabinet so that both coils (dual voice coil) on the sub got a mono feed each from the amp and it now runs at around 3.8ohms. The difference is like night and day. The amp isn't struggling anymore yielding far greater volume and the sound quality is far better in this configuration - oh and it doesn't trip now either. So, save for a little trim work, the audio is now complete .
