Baaaahhhhhh..:( ...Scuppered again....first the in-line fuse from the battery to the fuse block blew as i was installing the newer 450w amp.....(my fault as i accidently shorted it out)......then after working fine all afternoon the amp died leaving the prt light on......checked the net,and it seems to be a common fault with Fusion's......will have to investigate further.....thanks to Greg for popping down to help me.....:)
Going off the amp idea now.....:)

Thats terrible, is the amp tripping into protection mode for any reason? Can't believe you got another duff.

Cheers Dave...........not having much luck with these Fusion amps........the protection mode thing seems to be a common fault on these......
It worked great all afternoon,i then switched the car off and went inside for an hour or so,i then had to pop out again,so started the car,and guess what...?..no amp.............:laugh:........will get the RCA's fixd on the 300w,at least that one didn't go into protection mode....

Had amp checked by an electronics mate of mine......Baaahhhh..:angry: ...more scupperage......RCA's are fine,looks like it could be any of the micro tossy components on the board......not really worth the effort of fixing.........:angry:
Will try to sort the 450w out now..........???????

Thats odd, as i recall it worked when you put sidewards force on the rca lead. Would have thought there must be something lose or dry soldered in there. Crap luck though dude.

I know.........we recreated the sideways pressure and coudnt get it it to fail.....the RCA's were showing a good connection......:(
May try it back in position again.........???

Are you saying then that the amp didn't fail when it was tested? If it didn't i would have him test the other amp too - if that doesn't fail either under test then i would start looking at other things being wrong, not the amps. They might be tripping into protection mode for a reason. Just a thought.

Jep, i can understand that - been some pretty bad luck there dude. How is the second amp set up dude, are all the switches and dials in the right places? Just seems odd to trip out.

all the settings were turned down mate i checked on the fusion wbsite for possible causes for the protection light being on they say about wires bridging terminals - definatly wasnt happening, over heating - possible with it being mounted under the seat but hasnt really been used long enough at high volume and they gave a quick test to disconnect every thing and then power it up, if the light still remains on the recommend fusions service department which to me says internal components worn out such as thyristor
