PROJECT COMPLETE!!

finally the second amp arrived yesterday so managed to get it all installed and set up this afternoon, considering the budget it has turned into a very tidy and good sounding install, thanks to dave for the input on the subs, i will be in touch when it comes to my own car and thanks to andy for having the faith and trust in me to pull his pride and joy apart and sort this install out. i hope you are pleased with it.

Really pleased with the end result..........the sound is way better now.............proves you can get good results with minimal outlay..............

Now to get my own build finished .. been on it all weekend again - blood, sweat, mdf and fibreglass

Had a bit of a tweak on this with Mr G on friday. Have to say it sounds pretty good, especially when you consider the budget. Those coaxials are very capable too, the fronts can create some serious noise with an amp behind them.

Greg, just a quick question - what outputs were used to provide a source for the subs? I was trying to tweak the subs independantly from the rear speakers, but the subwoofer level on the head unit didn't do anything. Is there another setting somewhere on the h.u?

Got a problem with the cheap amp off e-bay.........dodgy RCA terminals............Greg and myself traced the problem with the door speaker cutting out to the amp..........we had tried new leads and stll the problem remained.....we opened the amp up to check th inputs,and could find nothing.....????????
I have decided to buy another amp...... i have gone for another used amp in keeping with the spirit of the build.....but this one is from a reliable source where the amps are checked.............
Also this amp is slightly more powerfull at 450w and has more features.........

So it was the RCA terminal, not the leads - bad luck Mr G! Lets hope the newly purchased amp does the job. Shame about the old one as it sounded ok when it was running.

Probably be able to fix the other one after talking to an electronics guy i know.......if so it may go in one of my other cars......lol

Replacement amp arrived today...........much quicker than the previous one.......looks in good nick.....will fit it when i have enough daylight...........
