Saw a report on supermarket fuels v's V-power......even though a few of the Supermarket fuels seem to be a higher octane rating,the most power gains were made by using V-Power......they are fine to use but fuel chemistry is a complicated subject.....V-Power contains a lot of other additives,which make it the choice everyday fuel for imported car's running on trick ECU's....i'm sure the Tesco fuel will be fine though....
I've always thought that V-power was a better overall fuel. If the local Shell station was a bit (lot) cheaper then I'd use it without any doubt, but unless petrol prices suddenly crash, which I seriously doubt, then the Tesco 99 Ron will have to suffice. As it is my ECU is mapped for JDM fuel which is apparently 102-105 RON as standard, (feel free to correct me), so it has to retard the ignition somewhat anyway. I'm after getting an Apexi Power FC with commander, which can be fully mapped in this country, and with the commander I can alter the map for use on regular unleaded as well as super! That's the plan anyway!! Just need to save the pennies to get it all sorted!! Now where did I put that lottery ticket........

Check out the "Apexi D-Jetro" version though,i know they corrected the AFM problem but not sure wether it includes automatic ignition retard....also think they made an "Apexi D-Jetro Pro" as well,but i am unsure as to the features of this.....
I am sure a "Power FC" will run your car fine...i just wanted to point out a couple of possible problems....i had a spate of blowing hoses etc and each time i had to be rescued by the guys who map it....they had to come to wherever i was and tweak it to make it just about drivable....

Which version of the Power FC are you thinking of getting mate.....the "older" style or the "D-Jetro"....the reason i ask is because i know that the original Power FC doesn't perform automatic ignition retard under detonation....also if you blow a hose you will find the car virtualy undrivable due to messed up AFM readings.....i know the D-Jetro does away with the AFM and utilize's a MAP sensor instead.......I had a Power FC on my GTR for a while but changed to a LINK G3 which carries more features....you basically have two maps,an N/A map and a Turbo map....if you blow a hose/vac problem it just runs like an N/A untill problem is sorted....also on a car like the GTR you get rid of the twin AFM's in favour of a Map sensor.....Power FC's are very good but it may be worth having a look at some alternative's.......i know my car run's way better on the LINK than it did on the Power FC.....

Well, some food for thought there!! I'll be discussing it with Pip at WGT when the time comes so will sort it then I reckon!!

I know they are a drain on us all,and they do bugger all half the time.....but in this day and age everybody gets on to us all about political correctness and how we have to "embrace" other cultures customs and practices....it's nice to have somrthing that is English and belongs to us......lets show the World a bit of good old British pomp.....
