civic engine mounts

does anybody no if 4gen civic engine mounts are the same as 5gen civic. cheers

YES YES DONT WORRY ILL SORT HIM OUT,

4TH GEN CIVIC (88-91) MOUNTS AND THE 5TH GEN CIVIC (92-95) MOUNTS ARE QUITE DIFFERENT, THE LOCATING POINTS ON THE ENGINE ARE THE SAME BUT THE BOLTING LOCATION ON THE BODY/CHASSIS IS DIFFERENT. (THIS IS THE SAME FOR BOTH D SERIES AND B SERIES ENGINES) ALSO 88-91 ENGINES MOSTLY CAME WITH A CABLE TRANSMISSION AND A CUSTOM TRANSMISSION MOUNT WILL BE NEEDED FOR A HYROLIC TRANSMISSION AND VICE VERSA IF YOU WERE PUTTING A 88-91 ENGINE INTO A 92-95 CIVIC, OR YOU COULD JUST SWAP THE GEARBOXS ROUND (IF YOU HAVE THE GEARBOX FOR THE RIGHT CAR IF NOT YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY ONE OR BUY A CUSTOM MOUNT I KNOW WHAT I WOULD RATHER BUY)

THE DIFFIRENCE BETWEEN B SERIES AND D SERIES IS THE ADDITION OF A REAR TRANSMISSION MOUNT ON THE B SERIES (FOR EXTRA STABILITY, FOR THE EXTRA TORQUE)

cheers 4 that mate. i no sumeone that is selling a vti engine out of a 5thgen civic woth the lume gearbox the lot and i was just wondering if it wud fit but do u think it wud be 2 much work???

to make it work in yours you'll need:

1. the engine gearbox and loom off your mate
2. drive shafts
3. engine mounts
4. OBD0 to OBD1 Conversion harness
5. OBD0 vtec ECU (crx VT or civic VT would be best)
6. civic VT or CRX VT Speedo gauges (tachometer for vtec engines work on a differrent voltage i.e. if you use the original tacho in your car it will say your doing 10,000RPM when your really only doing 7,500RPM) (Not sure if CRX VT Speedo gauges are the same as the Civic)
7. New Radiator and Radiator Hoses (DOHC VTEC use 32mm pipes and others use 28mm pipes)
8. New manifold and intake to suit DOHC VTEC engine
9. DOHC VTEC Transmission linkage (bar that runs from ur gearstick to the Gearbox)

i think thats about it, there is alot of work and bits youed have to get but the risk is worth the reward.
