To sell or not to sell!!!

I've come to realise in the the last eighteen months that I don't seem to have the time to use the Rex at all. Between my shifts and my home commitments, I struggle to make it to meets, shows, or anything in between!! She's done less than 60 miles since October 2010!! Last year she cost me nearly £2000 and I literally drove it to WGT and back! On top of that, I've been trying to save like a bastard for a deposit to buy a house! All this has started me thinking, is it worth me keeping the old girl?? If I sell her, not only will I get a chunk towards my deposit, but it will save me the running costs in the future. I could always look into getting another Jap wagon at some point after I've spunked all my money on a house, or maybe not. I really don't know.

What do you guys think? As fellow enthusiasts I'm sure you understand my reluctance to get rid, but should I do the sensible thing and get rid?

I had a similar decision with my mr2, I. The end my house took priority and I got rid and bought the corolla and to be honest I've never looked back. It's a tough one mate but u gotta prioritise things

Greg how often do you use the corolla now??? ?weekends....so toy car, what the MR2 was, except that needed a cit of cash throwing at it.

Chris...had this conversation the other day "should sell car need money" and came to the realisation that hes a jerk for even thinking about it.

We all know what happens: 1) Sell car
2) Spend money
3) Miss it, get bored and depressed
4) Start spending money on your current car, if you haven't bought another one by yet.
5) Get in the same situation you're in now, make a thread.

Well I went for a drive in her the other day and I reckon I'll just keep hold of her for now. Plus after looking at the kind of prices they're going for pre rebuild, I don't reckon I'll get anywhere near what she's worth!! Guess the heart wins this round!!

Yeah the corolla is a second car now circumstances have changed but at the time I brought it and for the following 2 years it was my main car.

It's a good job the heart won out as I'm still yet to see the beast Rex.

I am about to sell my GTR.......want to buy a second house........will keep the Vehicross..........then in a couple of years i will be looking for a Lotus or NSX.......

I think if I sold her I'd end up with my daily drive and that would be it. My weekend toy days would be over! I think if worst comes to worst, I'll have to wait a few months longer for my deposit, and if the shit does hit the fan, Ive got myself a garage so I'll just mothball the old girl until my circumstances take an upturn!!

On a more positive note, I'm gonna make more of an effort to use her this year, attending meets and, shifts depending, one or two shows! I fact I'm going to get my shift rota now and see which shows I'm available for!!

Yeh defo. It's a bit awkward with my shifts and my training but I'll make an effort to get down and see you guys. Ideally the weekend is best for me, but I could perhaps swing a Tuesday or Thursday evening, shift depending!!
