Headlights?!

What's the crack with headlights nowadays. Has the legal level/aim been raised or is it just the fact that modern headlights are just so much brighter? I seem to get dazzled on a regular basis whilst driving, by cars with dipped headlights!! I understand that Xenons and HID headlights are, by there nature, a lot brighter than standard halogen lights, but even then, when they are aimed correctly, surely they shouldn't dazzle other drivers!!! I just find it strange that even lots of halogen headlights dazzle oncoming traffic.

Or is it just because I'm a short arse and sit lower in the car then most people????

Unfortunately they are just brighter. Pain in the arse when i can see more at night due to the bellend behind in a 60 plate X5 with rediculous headlights, compared to the candle effect my old datsun provides.

Know what you mean......i get the same.....think the lights are just that much brighter......

yeah they are, and that in itself can be dangerous because on an unlit road with someone coming towards you with freakin bright lights, you end up not being able to see

yeah i think newer cars are brighter but again the do tend to dazzle when coming towards you. however i cant say a think as i have hid on the corolla too so i probably do blind people but in my defense i have angled the beam lower than it should be

Same here....I just thought it was because the MX5 was so low....plus me being short but maybe not afterall!!
