mallory park 29th dec 09

went to mallory park yesterday with 'doughnutters' who organised the curborough day i di earlier this year, turned out to be a fantastic day, did from 12.30 - 4, although i came off track early after getting a bit of brake wobble on a late brake past a sierra. he flashed me as i went past, so when he came in i went to apologise if i may have cut him up, only for him to say he wasnt bothered about that, he flashed as my brakes were on fire

overall, the gti felt right at home. the braks being the only weak link, but that was my fault. it handled great on the daiyama's, tires were possibly the other weak link. brakes actually felt really good despite being a bit hot! its a shame i have to use this as a daily otherwise i'd strip it out and get a bucket seat/harness in there, it woulkd make such a good track car its untrue

aoc cars, freds stagea on coilovers, me, patchie's gti, liam's coilover'd N16 1.8 sport...

freds stagea was surprisingly not boatlike, coilovers worked a treat for him, sounded great with an HKS exhaust too! patchie was playing setups with his newly fitted BC coilovers, so was still getting used to setting it up. liams 1.8 sport ws an absolute flying machine! only the straight line speed was letting it down, but still it was bloody quick surprised me!

Joking apart it could be good fun.........old wise Mr. G recommends a 200sx/Silvia variant........good cheap parts new and s/hand.........plentiful too.....lots of cheapies out there.........RWD fun for track and drift..........hmmmmmmmmmm J-n-c drift car..........

haha your getting last go Mr G. you would drift it straight into the nearest hedge

but lets face it G, that hasnt worked out great so far has it? just ask your old mans hedge, gate and fence
