my welsh road trip

Went for a drive out to wales at the weekend with the mrs, stayed in bangor saturday night but managed to take in the Evo Triangle and and the A4212 Trawsfynydd to Bala.

As soon as i left the mrs house saturday morning, went A5 all the way. who do i come across in brownhills on the A5? Disco Stu!

Then went from Betws-y-coed (used the Shell station evomag use ) down through Festiniog to Trawsfynydd and onto the A4212. stopped at Llyn Celyn then headed to Bala, piss stop then home.

Rear engine mount is shafted again, flexi piece on the hotshot is shafted again, brakes are on there last legs and it still leaks pas fluid and water.

ah well.

last summer i took the A496 from barmouth to ffestiniog then to A470 to Colwyn Bay, and went to the welsh mountain zoo

some awesome roads up there past hte slate mines

quality run out there mr tommo, love driving the welsh roads when i pop to my dads holiday home up in penrhyn bay,

wish i had taken my camera with me when i went up to the lake district with the mrs some great roads there too

your right stu its a full fat gti thats had a few quid spent on it! good to see you out and about. i was faffing with satnav when i spotted you, funny as i was sat next to you in the traffic! looked across and saw a nismo wheel. then looked again and saw the 'sky' reg. plate. then it clicked

The full body kit really changes the appearance of this model of car, I couldn't figure out what car you were driving coz it looked significantly different from your previous car. The car looks to be in excellent condition Tommo. What does the stock GTI come with then - I'm guessing all the body kit, window color etc do not come as standard? If so, did you fit these or the previous owner? Are the front driver/passenger windows darkened too? Looks like it from your pics. I do like tinted windows, in other countries they seem to get away with all round tints.

Any club road trips planned?

i have a thread for it in 'members rides' stu, that gives a run down of parts, but in a nutshell, the bodykit is a standard optional extra, but was fitted to 99% of phase 2 almera GTi's. the windows are 25% all round, the grill and bonnet lip came off the old almera and the rear lights are colour coded. its lowered a lot, and the rest of the money went on tuning!
