More hedge surfing....

Decided i'd demolish another hedge,a few trees,and some fencing this morning......
Unfortunately i was in the GTR as my missus wanted to take the Rav4.....and i didn't fancy taking the Yaris......i hit a patch of ice on an ungritted lane,and slid for a considerable distance before leaving the road and carrering down an embankment.....
Will have to see the outcome of the insurance assesor tommorow.......
But as i keep telling you guys......their only cars.........

when i spoke to G earlier he couldn't care less about the car, more impressed with his drift styles lol

Yeah....Tommos right,im too long in the tooth to be upset about car's......
To be honest the damage doesn't look too bad.......the bumper was torn off along with the arch liners,both skirts were damaged,but the worst damage is the whacking great crease in the rear quarter/bumper area.........it just depends if there has been any suspension/sructural damage........im certainly not going to lose any sleep over it........Skylines are two a penny at the moment........i know mine was a nice example with a decent bodykit,wheels and brakes.......but im sure if this is dead,i'll end up with another one or something else.............a bumper car springs to mind....... ...........or perhaps a tank........

there were around six ice related accidents on my way to work yesterday, three within 100 metres of each other. Some guy did a 360 and parked in a ditch up against a fence, another guy must have done the same except he finished up parking his rear end in a tree. We also had an accident close to one of our sites, there was a flood due to a burst water main, it's been there for abiut four days and it's covered a section of the road with about six inhes of water maybe more, well yesterday morning it had iced over and needless to say someone went ice skating on it!

just goes to show what the weather can do!

I decided that I will bve wearing my trousers at half mast today in honour of the battleship mr.G.

Bad news Mr G. I think if you do have to get shot due to damage though, you need to bequeath the remains to Steve just so we can still have our silverline coffee table.

Glad to hear you're ok though, it would be a great loss if the techno-viking was unable to amuse and entertain us at various events still to come.

I saw the line that mr G took as i passed by shortly after the incident - we work on the same site. I have to say that i doubt anyone less experienced than our very own techno viking could have held it. Most would have lost it and span / flipped - but mr G held it together and rode it out. To be fair, the road it happened on would usually not ice, and if it did you would normally pick it up way back down the road. I drive it every day and i would have probably hit the same fate had i not spotted the battleship up ahead and slowed to investigate - and having stopped can confirm the road was like a skating rink at that point - very unusual.

Mr G my hat is off to you for an excellent show of driving skill. Shame it ended as it did - but could have been far worse.

i know Mr G is a good driver matey that comment was not aimed at his driving, im guessing the incident was up lawn lane? it is one of those roads that can be a funny drive i spun my CRX on that road luckily hit nout,

good point, although the oldy im workin for tomorrow might not appreciate it as much.

Thanks for the comments Dave.......joking apart i was very lucky....it could have flipped,it slid down that gulley for a huge distance.......heard there was some further hedge surfing in the adjoining lanes...resulting in one of our service engineers doing the same.........
Who knows the old beast may yet again take to the road,if not it will be off to the great Wangan in the sky......
