Stagea go boom, fall down!

What's happened dude??? Gutted.

First off, one of the belts snapped, just happened to be the water pump/fan/alternator belt. Got the AA out, they obtained a new belt, fitted it, refilled the rad, and found the radiator had cracked when the pump stopped. Got the thing recovered.

Replaced the radiator with a spare I know somebody had, refilled, burped etc.... got 25 miles down the road, and the water pump bearings have collapsed. Cue loads of steam and water escaping from the bonnet again. Once again, it's on the back of a wagon, now in need of a new water pump, no way to get one in the next few days due to the extra holidays, and having spat the coolant out twice in two days, distinct possibility of HG failure...
