Well, just dont get a naff flywheel or bolts !

The ring gear is what punctured the hood, it proceeded to fly approx. 150ft in the air and narrowly missed a civic that was nearby. the one giant chunk of flywheel is what tore the subframe and exhaust up, and when the whole thing went, it took the bellhousing with it, the input shaft and trans cross member is the only thing holding the trans up.

Again, the driver was not injured, but he could very well have been if the parts decided to leave the car in another direction.

its not a case of fitting, its more to do with the quality of the flywheel and bolts. be careful when you have one lightened is all i can say.....

I agree ..too many crap copy parts appearing on e-bay dirt cheap.........doubt a JUN or HKS set-up would do that unless enormous power or Minty was used..........lol

too right andy, people think they are getting a good deal, i know we all like to save abit of money on our parts, but with somethinf like a flywheel or internal engine parts you don't really want to be using cheap parts!

Too right........i try to only fit \"brands\" on to my GTR but as you say ....they aint cheap...........you can't win really...... sometimes the cheaper parts can be as good a quality on certain items and sometimes you just pay through your nose on the \"branded\" items......filters spring to mind for example..........at the end of the day a \"copy\" stainless or foam off E-bay from China can equally as good as some of the Jap makes.......but i would be loathe to trust things like cheapTurbo's,Manifold's,pistons,cam's,etc.............MrG..says\"buy wise.....buy once\"...... ..LOL

Post edited by: Andy_G, at: 2007/07/25 06:38

spot on, ebay specials like, sideskirts, spoilers, filters, and shiny bits etc have a reasonable chance of being ok, i mean if sideskirts fall off or break they ain't gonna blow your engine to pieces. However if you buy a £1.99 buy it now flywheel special, you have to question the quality!
