Plans for now are buy a genuine bonnet and get it sprayed white and a rear disc conversion as the drums kinda give the game away lol, but obviously ill have to fit gtir brakes all round so i dont mess up the brake balance.

Been thinking about getting the wheels done in black as the shadow caught the wheel nicely one nite and i thought hmmm black wheels could look mint!

Decat is on the way so its an excuse to shove a flamer kit on aswell.

i keep being offered pulsar engines but going through just the front wheels the gearbox wont last 5 minutes i bet!

think there only 240 diameter, need to change the pads, can get them smoking and stinking far toooo easily!

discs i can replace easy, wot i need is the parts to change over from rear drums to discs, so hubs and all that. lol

not a bad replica that! and to be honest i didnt notice the bonnet untill the post where you mentioned it lol. so what engine/power is it then mate?

well im back everyone, havent been on in ages.

havent really done much to the car, except nearly hydralock the engine last night, very lucky it only sucked in a small amount of water.

Anyway, the 1.4 shouldnt be in much longer, as i should be picking a 1.6 up in the next month and its going to be a complete strip down with new bearings, rings etc

Im going to tune it a little aswell, which means, having the crank reground,balanced, pistons balanced, head work, mate has offered to do it but hes slow lol, he said he would skim the head, polish the ports, do some 5 angle grind thing on the valve seats, chamfer the top of the valves, polish the combustion chamber top (top of chamber on bottom of the head), polish the top of the pistons, fidanza flywheel, light weight pulleys, a full exhaust system and a remap.

If i was to get JWT cams form the states as these dont lose any low down power such as kent and piper cams do i would be the guinea pig as the 1.6 from the states has VVC and on the inlet shaft there is an extra sprocket and no1 knows if this can be removed in order to run them in the european spec 1.6 (GA16DE) engine.

Im hoping for a decent gain even without the cams, well id be happy with a 20bhp increase, so 120bhp. Sounds puny i know but im looking for just a little more poke. I would drop the sr20 in but insurance would be the problem.

What sort of gains do you think i might get from this work?

As for brakes... a development has come up on the almera owners club, 280mm clio sport discs and mitsi fto twin pot calipers bolt straight on and fit perfectly! Ill be looking into that for bigger brakes rather than spend loads on a big brake conversion.
