so hes saying after a rebuild and once you warm the engine, run it hard for 1500 miles not using synthetic oil. Then change oil to whatever preference and continue to use as normal.
And all of this is supposed to make the oil seals on the pistons wear in better with expansion..... . . . :huh: makes sense I can see what he is trying to say.

You use mineral oil aswel so you can temper the shell/bearings as the synthetic oils keep temps down so don't harden them...
We have always run our engines in on mineral for approx 1500 miles doing about 3 oil changes before putting the good stuff in.
I know an engine builder that says drive it as you stole it when he rebuilds them, he's never had an engine come back. He runs full boost through his engines straight away.

Saying that tho, isn't that what they do on the btcc cars?
