Clay Bar

Anyone heard anything about clay bar? Does this actually work or just scratch your car?

Heard good things about them.........never used one though...........think your car is really too new and your paint in very good condition to use one of these...............think you spray a lubricant on the paint then "rub" the bar over the contours of the car apparently the morphable material "pulls" out contaminents..........i only no one guy who has used one of these and he siad it did clean it well...........not sure though Stu........best to hear other opinions first.............have you tried RTF remover.........that normally gets most things off without damage to the laquer..............

I'll hold off the the clay bar then.

I like it shiny    (I like to focus on the outside because my scope for any work under the hood is very limited)

Sorry stu.........RTF..........road traffic film remover..........cuts most of the crap off the paint work...............without this stuff my GTR rear bumper would just "yellow" up due to the rich exhaust fumes.........its unbelivable what hoses off after you apply this stuff.........

That's pretty interesting. Not heard of it before. Does it take off the wax too and you have to rewax afterwards?

I'm surprised your rear bumper hasn't burt away with those flames comming out !!!!

How often do you use it?

stu the meguiars clay bar is that best thing in the world mate i use it regularly on the bora and after ive used it the body work is sooooooo smooth. then with polish on top of it leaves an unbelievable deep shine.

put it this way i threw a microfibre cloth on my bonnet once (they will stick to anything) and it just slid off the other side lol it really does leave it that smooth im gonna clay it for JAE if i go so ill show you then

The Clay bar is excellent, you just have to make sure it's lubricated with the qucik detailer or water, otherwise you'll leave clay streaks over your paintwork.
