Toyota did develop a GT version of the Gen 7 T-Sport VVTLI, Lowered it, Differant Spoiler, a Little extra power and a few other cosmetic changes, but nothing really to "write home" about

Toyota have actualy stopped designing any new models of the Celica and Mr2, and i believe i am right in saying (anyone please correct me if i am wrong) that production will stop altogether at the end of 2006.

you are indeed correct tony. they have ended all celica and mr2 production in 2006 due to a change in emission laws i think.

that kit really does look wrong! just out of intrest who had the silly idea of producing it??

True, but there are still rumours about the Turbo, 4wd corolla and the new Toyota/Lexus Supra which is'nt a supra but really is supra :-?.

(Also the Supercharged Corolla, but you said performance cars, and the stats i've seen for it is well, less than breath taking)

The saving grace is that Toyota can't spoil the Celica / Mr2's any more, lets face it, the new shapes for both cars when downhill. :'(

In terms of the demise of the Celica/Mr2 Toyota are aparantly designing a new "Sports Car" using infuences from both cars, what it will be is anyones guess, i am officailly holding my breath in anticipation.

Turbo 4wd corolla sounds interesting. Are Toyota thinking of getting back into rallying?

If they were, surely they wouldnt re-use the corolla tho?

Dunno mate i have heard they are thinking about it, but they are really into the Formula 1 thing at the minute arn't they. But it would be good to see them back, plus then they could show those Evo and Suberu boys how it's done ;D.

To be completely honest i thought it was a shame to change from the GT4, at the end of the day how championships did they win with the corolla??? i think 0, with the GT4 they won 3 - (I think, please correct me if i'm wrong).

The 4wd Turbo Corolla does sound interesting, just look at the Fensport one (I know it's Modifyed but still)

Toyoto got banned from the WRC in the mid 90s with their ST205 GT4 due to them fiddling with the turbo :D 8-)

ST205 GT4s are seriously under-rated cars. I'd certainly have one ;)

I did hear that to be honest, but i'm sure i read somewhere that Toyota's spin on the situation was the "The Corolla handles better", :-?. i doubt that.

With the WRC, i just thought it was really good to see a Coupe blast around a rally stage and take on and beat (And to be fair, lose) to other great cars like the Lancia Delta.

Plus they did have two of the greatest rally drivers Didier Auiol and Carlos sienz (I know i've spelt them wrong).
